Our Commitment to Accessibility
PromiseCare Medical Group is committed to ensuring that our websites — including promisecare.com, promisecaremanagementservices.com, hemetcommunitymedicalgroup.com, and all affiliated PromiseCare websites (collectively, the “Sites”) — are accessible to all individuals, including people with disabilities.
We believe that equal access to healthcare information is a right, not a privilege. We are actively working to improve the accessibility of our Sites in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and California accessibility standards.
Standards We Follow
We aim to meet or exceed the following standards:
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA — The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), Version 2.1, Level AA conformance criteria
- ADA Title III — Requirements applicable to public accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act — Electronic and information technology accessibility standards applicable to federally funded entities, including Medicare and Medicaid participants
- California Unruh Civil Rights Act — California’s civil rights law providing equal access to all business establishments
Current Accessibility Features
We have implemented or are working to implement the following accessibility features across our Sites:
- Keyboard navigation — All pages can be navigated using a keyboard without requiring a mouse
- Screen reader compatibility — Pages are structured with semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and descriptive alt text for images to support screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
- Text resizing — Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Color contrast — Text and interactive elements use sufficient color contrast ratios to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards
- Captions and transcripts — Video content published on the Sites includes closed captions; transcripts are provided where applicable
- Descriptive link text — Links use descriptive text rather than generic phrases like “click here”
- Form labels — All form fields include visible labels and accessible instructions
- Skip navigation links — A skip-to-main-content link is provided to allow keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance, some areas of the Sites may not yet fully meet all accessibility standards. Known areas we are actively working to improve include:
- Third-party embedded tools, including the patient portal operated by NextMD, are subject to their own accessibility standards and are outside PromiseCare’s direct control. We are working with all third-party vendors to promote accessibility best practices.
- Third-party embedded tools (including the patient portal operated by NextMD) are subject to their own accessibility standards and are outside PromiseCare’s direct control
We are committed to addressing known accessibility gaps on an ongoing basis and to incorporating accessibility review into all future website updates and redesigns.
