PromiseCare Medical Group wins Integrated Healthcare Association's 2022 Ronald P. Bangasser Memorial Award

PromiseCare Medical Group, a leading healthcare provider in the Inland Empire region, has been honored with the prestigious Ronald P. Bangasser Memorial Award for Quality Improvement by the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA). The award recognizes physician organizations in each of eight California regions that have demonstrated the greatest improvement in the measurement year of 2021 – 2022 based on commercial Pay for Performance measures of Clinical Quality, Patient Experience, and Meaningful Use of Health IT.

The Integrated Healthcare Association is a non-profit industry association that brings the healthcare community together to solve industry-wide challenges and improve the healthcare system for everyone. IHA’s Align, Measure, Perform (AMP) program uses a fair and transparent approach to measurement and benchmarking to create a reliable assessment of performance for medical groups and IPAs across health plans.

Heather Hughes, Director of Coordinated Care at PromiseCare Medical Group, expressed her gratitude for the award, stating, “We are thrilled to receive the Ronald P. Bangasser Memorial Award for Quality Improvement from the Integrated Healthcare Association. This award is a testament to our commitment to providing the highest quality care to our patients and our dedication to continuous improvement.”

The Bangasser Award recognizes physician organizations that demonstrate the greatest relative improvement in quality performance from the previous year. PromiseCare Medical Group’s exceptional performance in 2022 has earned the organization this prestigious award. PromiseCare Medical Group was recognized for this achievement on December 8 at IHA’s 2022 Virtual Stakeholders’ Conference, which featured updates on IHA’s strategic plan and a discussion on what’s ahead for California’s healthcare community.

“At PromiseCare Medical Group, we prioritize our patients’ health and well-being and aim to deliver the best possible care,” said Ms. Hughes. “Winning this award is a great honor and motivates us to continue striving for excellence.”

Integrated Healthcare Association is responsible for collecting data, deploying a common measure set, and reporting results on behalf of ten health plans for approximately 200 physician organizations caring for about 9 million members. IHA’s AMP program, paired with the insights from IHA’s California Regional Health Care Cost & Quality Atlas, help partners reduce the reporting burden for payers and providers by using a standard measure set to deliver objective data and analysis that support performance improvement.
